Erskine College psychology major and Presidential Scholar Alexis Lyda, along with four other members of a psychological statistics class taught by Dr. Robert Elsner, spent last Saturday morning at the Renaissance, a retirement community in Due West.

“I am so thankful for the opportunity I have been given to conduct my research project on ‘The Effectiveness of Art Therapeutic Modalities in Independent and Assisted Living Environments’ at the Renaissance,” Alexis says.

“This has given me a chance to shape my future and have hands-on experience in a field that I am passionate about. The residents were so willing to help, curious about what I was doing, and supportive of my team and me.”
