The Rev. Andy Jones, director of stewardship development at the Chalmers Center for Economic Development, will speak at an Erskine chapel program Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. in the Due West ARP Church.
Founded in 1999, the Chalmers Center began at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga., the college of the Presbyterian Church in America.
The Center is named for Thomas Chalmers, a 19th-century Scottish pastor who worked to revive concern and care for the poor in the church of his day. Now separately incorporated as a nonprofit, the Center operates under bylaws that are “designed to maintain a vibrant partnership between the Center and the College,” according to the Chalmers website.
The Erskine Chamber Singers will also be featured in Tuesday’s chapel program.
