Business students work to “Can Hunger”

Erskine College Assistant Professor of Business Administration Tracy McCurry reports that the 25 students in her “Introduction to Business” class collected more than 5,574 pounds of non-perishable food items for donation during the fall semester.
McCurry said the food is being given to several groups, including Meals on Wheels in Anderson; the Greenwood Food Bank; the Greenville Soup Kitchen; the Salvation Army in Greenwood; and Crisis Assistance Ministries for Gaston County, N.C.
Campbell Soup Company’s “Let’s Can Hunger” challenge, issued to Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) groups around the country, was part of the original inspiration for the class’s efforts, but McCurry’s class, not Erskine’s SIFE team, carried out the project.
