Alumni Weekend 2018 set for April 27-28

Erskine alumni and friends are invited to the Due West campus April 27-28 for Alumni Weekend 2018. Highlights include a free concert by “Prettier Than Matt” featuring 2009 graduate Jessica Skinner and a demonstration by the award-winning Due West Robotics Club.

A spring choral concert featuring the Choraleers, Chamber Singers, and Bella Voce will be presented Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall.

At 10 a.m. Saturday in Lesesne Auditorium, a meeting of the Alumni Association will include an introduction of Director of Advancement Mike Ervin and Coordinator of Alumni Relations and Communications Andy Anderson ’95, who have recently joined the Erskine staff.

A silent auction on the Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be sponsored by the student organization “For the Kids” (FTK) to benefit the Greenville Children’s Hospital. Also from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., children’s entertainment, including inflatables and face painting, will be available on the Mall, and lunch ($7.50) will be served on the Mall beginning at noon.

The Due West Robotics demonstration, also on the Mall, is scheduled for 12-2 p.m. and “Prettier Than Matt” will perform on the front porch of Watkins Student Center from 12-1:45 p.m.

The Women’s Alumni Basketball Game begins in the Galloway Center at 1 p.m., and the Men’s Alumni game follows at 2 p.m.

An opening reception for an exhibit of works by local artist Brian Hibbard is set for 2-4 p.m. in the Bowie Arts Center, with a meet-and-greet event with Erskine faculty and staff planned for 2-3 p.m. in the same location.

The Miss Erskine Pageant is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Lesesne Auditorium, and a number of classes will meet beginning at 3 p.m. in various locations.

Several classes have scheduled reunion dinners off campus Saturday evening, and the Class of 1968 will hold its 50th reunion dinner at the Bleckley Inn in Anderson.
